Editor’s Note: They’re standing in the lobby of current day HiFi!
Hey everyone, I’m Chris! I’m the founder of Create Club, owner of HiFiCo.Shop, and owner of Barron Studios, a recording studio in Houston that has been around since 2005. My journey as a creative started early—my mom was a violinist, and my parents made sure my brother and I played instruments. I started on the violin (and hated it), switched to trumpet to rebel, and studied jazz until braces forced me to stop playing in high school. That’s when I turned to music production on my computer in 1999—primitive, frustrating, but the start of something bigger.
Why I Started HiFi & Create Club
Working in the studio, I saw firsthand how cannabis was more than just an escape for many artists—it was a creative tool. I watched artists tap into new ways of thinking, embrace risks, and unlock ideas they wouldn’t normally explore. That’s why I founded HiFi—to help people find cannabis experiences based on vibe and creative intent, not just strain names. Some people need an energizing spark, others need to calm their mind and focus. Creativity is personal, and so are the tools we use to tap into it.
With Create Club, I wanted to take that same philosophy and build a community where creativity is the priority. It’s not about clout. It’s not about getting discovered. It’s about growing as an artist, writer, or musician, finding your voice, and surrounding yourself with people who push you to be better.
Where I’m At Creatively Now
These days, I’m mainly focused on Create Club and HiFi while my brother runs Barron Studios. My last big project before stepping away was working on Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, mixing the credits song with Tobe Nwigwe and mixing it in Atmos for the film. I still play with Atmos mixing, but I’ve also been diving into VR video and soundscapes with my wife—learning new creative mediums just for fun.
My Vision for Create Club
What I’d love to see in Create Club is a community built on real creative growth—not just likes or empty compliments, but genuine feedback, real improvement, and shared learning. I want this to be a place where artists, writers, and musicians challenge each other, collaborate, and push their craft forward.
One of the biggest problems in creative industries is that too many people think success means tearing others down. That’s not how true artists work. The creatives who rise to the top aren’t the ones stepping on others—they’re the ones constantly improving, refining their work, and building meaningful relationships. Those are the people we want in this community.
That’s why I want feedback to be a core part of this server. Not the “this sucks” or “this is amazing” kind, but real, constructive critiques—the kind that help you level up your craft. Whether it’s refining a painting, tweaking a mix, or rewriting a story to make it stronger, this community should be a place where creatives help each other improve.
I’m excited to see where this goes, and I’d love to hear from all of you—what drives your creativity, what helps you grow, and how we can make this community the best space for artists, musicians, and writers to create more, together.
