Dear HiFi Friends,
Since we opened in March 2023, HiFi has grown from a storage room in a recording studio into a thriving national shipping dispensary. Your incredible support has allowed us to achieve this milestone and even negotiate better pricing with our cultivators. Today, I’m excited to share some good news: all of our flower prices have been permanently lowered—again! This progress wouldn’t have been possible without you, and for that, I’m humbled and endlessly grateful.
Unfortunately, I must temper my optimism because our community is now under attack. Senate Bill 3 (SB3), recently proposed by Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, threatens to ban all consumable THC products in our state, effectively shutting down our industry. This is not regulation—it’s eradication.
As Ted Lasso (or was it Walt Whitman?) once said: “Be curious, not judgmental.” Unfortunately, this legislation reflects judgment without curiosity, targeting an industry that has worked hard to build trust, operate responsibly, and serve communities like ours.
What SB3 Means for Us—and You
If passed, SB3 would impose a blanket ban on consumable THC products, including hemp-derived cannabinoids like Delta-8, Delta-9, and THCa, regardless of their safety or federal legality. While the bill is framed as a public health measure, it unfairly punishes responsible businesses like HiFi that go above and beyond to ensure compliance and consumer safety.
Here’s what’s at stake:
- Public Health and Safety: If SB3 passes, many consumers could turn to the black market for unregulated THC products, which lack safety testing and verified supply chains. This shift would not only endanger public health but also dismantle a thriving, taxable ecosystem.
- Consumer Choice: SB3 represents a direct attack on personal freedom—specifically, the freedom to make individual wellness decisions. By banning safe, regulated options, this bill severely limits consumer choice and forces Texans to conform to restrictive policies that ignore their unique needs and preferences. Wellness is deeply personal, and every individual deserves access to the tools and products that work best for their health—free from undue government interference.
- Economic Impact: This bill jeopardizes not only our business but the many small businesses like ours that contribute to Texas’s thriving $8 billion hemp economy. Simply put, SB3 will shut down our Houston location and countless others like it, affecting jobs, innovation, and community growth.
Why There’s Hope—and Time
First, let me reassure you: even if SB3 passes, the (most likely) earliest it would take effect is late August 2025. There is time to act, and HiFi is already taking steps to ensure we can continue serving you no matter what happens.
Our new website and national shipping capabilities are part of this vision. We’re preparing to operate legally from another state if necessary, so you can still rely on us for the products you love and trust.
But we can’t do this alone.
How You Can Help
Here’s how you can stand with us against SB3:
- Spread the Word: The number one way you can help is by sharing this message with your friends and family. Public support overwhelmingly favors legalization, and the more people who understand that a thriving, regulated market for THC is beneficial, the sooner that vision can become a reality.
- Contact Your Legislators: Tell them you oppose SB3 and support regulation over prohibition. Responsible businesses like HiFi are part of the solution, not the problem.
- Support the Texas Hemp Coalition: Consider donating or joining the Texas Hemp Coalition (THC), a leading advocacy and educational non-profit dedicated to supporting the hemp industry in Texas. You can join here.
Together, We Can Win This Fight
To our HiFi community: Thank you for being the heartbeat of our business! Your support has carried us through challenges before, and I know it will carry us through this one, too.
And remember, this isn’t just about HiFi—it’s about all of us. If you’ve read this far, I applaud you. Take 10% off your next web purchase with the code realone. With your help, we can push back against misguided legislation and ensure that safe, regulated hemp products remain available for everyone who relies on them.
Let’s stand together, louder than ever.
In solidarity,
Chris, HiFi Owner

Yep, potentially ugly stuff. Thanks for the info! I LOVE the convenience, pricing and reliability of what we enjoy in today’s environment but I do understand the dark side of this as well. There are folks out there (vendors) that are ruining a good thing. Again, you folks are Tony The Tiger Great. Your folks know me by now but ALWAYS look at my ID and present themselves in a professional manner. On the other hand, you have some smoke shops and vape shops that are a neighborhood menace and need to go! Basically corner boys behind a counter. Fraudulent, if any COA, is common IF you’re actually buying what they say they are selling you. These places aren’t providing a positive service to the community; they are indeed a public safety risk and an easy target to point to as “a bad actor”. Of course you have good shops too (please loose the neon) it’s not my intent to crap on all of them. Hopefully SB3 stalls and dies but I have as much hope for stricter rules, regulations and enforcement within the industry. We’ll see. Just enjoying life.
